CNN Watch: Telling Only Henry Louis Gates' Version 7/22/09

CNN has been lagging so far behind in cable news ratings that they started scandalizing the benign long ago, much as the Hearst-era dailies of the past did in order to drum up sales. What is nothing more than a silly story of a grown man acting like a child makes national news under the special banner, "Divided Nation".

Contrast that with the clip on this post to the left, where Gates portrays himself as a befuddled elderly citizen who complied perfectly with the arresting officer's request for identification. Where is Gates' admission of the "strong language used" ["Yeah, I'll speak with your mama outside" aren't very civil and compliant words to say to a man who takes his life in his hands every day to respond to calls of breaking and entering like this] that even his lawyer admits happened?

Why isn't there any input from the African American police officer pictured at the scene of Gates' arrest? How about a chance for the arresting officer to give his account of how Gates acted?

Clearly this incident helps to garner media attention for Gates' upcoming PBS documentary, as well as CNN's much ballyhooed "Black In America" series, which is coincidentally(?) starting tonight.

CNN has gone to great lengths to promote only half of this story to America, completely disregarding the effects that race-baiters and sensational "reporting" such as this has on bringing all Americans closer to harmony.

But as the famous news publishers of the past have bellowed, "The American people don't know what to think until I TELL THEM WHAT TO THINK."

Crowley is an imbecile. 1)He should have left Gates' home once id (2 forms of it) had been produced. 2) he cannot arrest someone for shouting in their own home (contravention of the 1st amendment). 3) He did NOT read Gates his rights before arresting him. He is the embodiment of police incompetence at its height. As for the caller, she did not actually SEE anything, it was the old lady that alerted her to what was going on, who actually saw Gates trying to get into his home.

This arrogant POS cop was wrong in the sense that:

1) Despite the professor producing ID that proved in fact he was the owner of the house, he arrested him anyway!

2) After establishing that the professor was the owner, this POS didn't attempt a further search of the property to make sure there weren't in fact a real burglar!

3) being an officer of "The Law", he should know "The Law", which is: it takes more than belligerent language to constitute "Disorderly Conduct"!!!

@xokaydokayx Thats actually the point. YOU feel for the trick. The person who CALLED 911 said she never said they were BLACK. Youtube the video, the police report said 2 blacks BUT the person who called NEVER said they were black. In addition to that, NORMALLY when cops go to someone house they know whos house it is, thats actually standard procedure, although he did say he didnt know because he went directly there without knowing. But it was obvious he wasnt a bandit and thats the point.

Actually ur a liar, the 911 tape supports gates, gates didnt write the police report did he. CRowley state that the 911 caller said she saw 2 black men in HIS REPORT. THATS A BIG FAT LIE. it was his report that put the 2 black men into it . He also said the 911 caller spoke to him and another cop that did not happen. Also the lady is white people in portugal are white. I know many of them they all classify themselves as white did u not see her mother she is white. So having a tan dont change it.
