  • @MACKATTACK1970 I didn't say the Correa went to the IMF. I was commenting about your allegations over the IMF and poor countries, in general. And, instead of going to the IMF, Correa has tried to blackmail the international community for money, or the Correa government will grant drilling permits to drill for oil in the Yasuni nature reserve, to the amount that Correa did not go to the IMF for.

  • @charlessmyth Actually it wasn't Correa who went to the IMF. Ecuador defaulted on a repackaged debt from the 1980's.

    ....

I know facts are a bitch but they may come in handy next time you wish to make a lucid point.

    ....

Good for Correa and the hell with the IMF, a tool used by the major powers to keep the poorer countries down and control them for the benefit of their multi-nationals.

  • Poor countries are not compelled to go to the IMF for money/ rolled-over debt. But the leadership of poor countries go to the IMF, to temporarily meet the costs of the mandate that got them elected. Correa can do no differently, since natural resources are rarely available to be the means to the ends, from which wealth is derived. So much so, Correa and his cohort are reduced to blackmailing the world, over oil or the well being of the Yasuni reserve, for the ransom of $3.6bn. Viva Ecaudor :-)

  • @Caty25cat AMEN!

  • @charlessmyth I applaud Correa for telling the IMF and their 'country manager' (how offensive) to take a hike. The IMF is not set up to help poor countries or their people, it is set up to financially enslave that population and take advantage of their resources in conjunction with multi-national corporations. Much like your credit card company couldn't give a damn about you and wants to profit of your silly actions.

    ....

Again, President Correa has done well by his people, viva Ecaudor!

  • Interesting video.

President Correa presented an alternative to protect the Yasuni and not exploit much the oil reserves there, let's see what will happen...

  • @377750 WOW!!! porque la insultadera? Respeta el panel y no seas un insultador mas. Tal parece que viste que soy ecuatoriano y crees ya poder insultar. No seas mal patriota.
