F22 with KFm2 airfoil -- Maiden -- built by Prof100 (Golem's

BEST SPEED using a doppler program is 77.3 mph. This is the maiden flight of Prof100's F22 scrachbuilt. Plans are from Golem of RCgroups. As you can see, the plane flies very well. Plane is made from Dow Fanfold construction insulating foam which is about 1/4" thick. I added a KFm2 airfoil and TV tabs. Thanks to Dick Kline who invented the KFm airfoil. Video was taken with a Jazz Elite HDV 178. Digital zoom is evident, but acceptable.

The plane has an amazing speed range which is facilitated by the KFm2 airfoil. Be patient, the slow flying doesn't occur until a few minutes into the video at about 2 minutes and 10 seconds. The pattern the plane is flying is over an area of about 1000 feet by 600 feet.

Plane flies great right out off the assembly table. Flight s started with zero reflex and then added in about 4 clicks of up elevator to get it to fly level. This was subsequently adjusted mechanically with the linkage and the trim was reset to zero.

Congratulations.

I seen a lot of F-22 foamies but the performance of yours is astounding.

It appears to be going in excess of 70MPH and I wonder if that is full throttle. I just finished building a RCPOWERS F-22 EasyBuild and it has flown but needs more trimming. Bad weather now preventing me doing that. Very nice plane and yours is an inspiration. All the best

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, it was flying a full throttle. The reason it flies so well is the basic design by Golem is quite good. I added thrust vectoring tabs for radical direction changes and high alfa flying. The KFm2 airfoil provides a very stable platform to fly both slow and fast.

Yes, it does fly well at low speed which is helped by the KFm2 airfoil.
