Yes, I think the tension this piece is supposed to create has been mostly lost this time due to the very slow tempo.

This is one of the slowest tempos I've ever seen used for this piece. I suppose it's fine for interpretation, but you should try to create more tension in the Agitato section, it was like something from Debussy, not Rachmaninoff.
