Tried to nail Dan Briggs' tone in the song, very mellow, deep, round and fat even in the high octaves. Cranked up the bass and low mids, cut a good deal of high mids and high. Too bad, with the small, little amp, the high octaves didn't seem to cut through. Other than that, I think I got pretty close to the tone with a small amp. All the noise and dirty sound comes from the poor camera recording. It didn't quite catch the high pitches and low basses together. You can hear them clutter together and gets diminished.

Pardon for the sluggishness - learnt through the 2 minute solo within an hour or so before recording - and the poor camera quality. Recorded with a 3.2mp camera phone under poor light.

Enjoy!

  • You need a bit more practice, and your tabs are also very wrong. Try learning by ear or transcribing it yourself -- it'll help you tremendously. Also, Dan uses a good deal of Hi-Mids.

  • @jarhead4214 Thanks for the comment, and sorry that I abandoned this video and didn't reply. Haha. I actually tabbed that out by ear, I guess I got a lot more practice to do.

  • Are you running through a GK head? If so, I can send you some perfect tone tips. I spent two hours dialing knobs.
