  • . If a problem like "3x - 25x" was always taught as "3x + -25x", then it would be easy to see that the -25x overpowers the 3x by 22x, leading to an answer of "-22x". I invented a tool that does this automatically for kids and that I hope will lead them to begin seeing patterns between negatives and positives.
