I agree with you, such a huge loss. I think it was film critic Pauline Kael who called Green Acres the greatest thing on the boob tube. Truly a brilliant show, and it got replaced by weakly written, poorly acted sitcoms, boo!
At least Silverman kept the Tonight Show going. Oh, Leno & that other guy never did really fill the shoes of Carson, Parr or Allen.
