I built this(prototype of Magnetic engine) when I was in 11th standard. Now I know its not realizable(they way I thought it to work). But still its quite fun to watch.
Yup, you are correct.I built this a long time ago .I didn,t had much knowledge in this area at that time and the design was made in accordance to the thing you said , i.e. car engines . Now I realize making a motor on these principles is more logical but I havn't done work on this since that time.Didn't got much support and lack of time is also the reason.
i know this is an old video an you've probably moved on... but... if you gave it more magnet-sets, lengthened the shaft to accommodate, with bends in the appropriate positions it could have a more fluid motion. basically the scheme for car engines -- four pistons in a line on a crank shaft where they work fluidly together to create a smoother rotation on the shaft.
