Kudos to Senators Paul, Richard Burr (R-NC) and the others. Americans need to have a real conversation about local control of education, and this makes for a great start!

  • The less government involved in education, the better off students will be. Get the Federal government out of education!

  • Eliminate no child left behind, right after eliminating the Dept. of Education!

  • @weetoy69 Sounds a bit like fear-mongering. If the real debate here was to fight either for energy independence and reduced dependence on foreign energy, then I could understand the position of keeping the coal plants going. Your straw man argument does not fool any of us with half an education.

  • @weetoy69 Its all in capital letters. It must be true!!! / sarc off

  • Rand Paul - future President of the United States of America.

  • Rand is a perfect example of good education. Every child should be this way and then our world will become tenfold better!

  • This needs to go viral because it is so rotten!

  • This is simply a matter of common sense. What has been said makes sense! Ah, but in today's society and especially in Washington, common sense is not common; it is a rare thing.

  • You go, Rand.

Representin' the State of my birth very well.

  • How about asking the parents? I know no parents who approve of this bill or its effects on their child(ren).

  • Vote for someone who supports ending the Department of Education in 2012!

  • As rational as this guy may sound you have to remember how flawed his base world view is. 5 minutes after this guy, or his father, took office entire states would be teaching hundreds of thousands of children that 6000 years ago humans were riding dinosaurs.
