I totally agree, also lets not forget the million they had from the national coal board, plus the 300million annual budget, plus the 900 million investment fund they have.(this does not include assets! Plus the fact that entrance fees etc cover running costs. They also have plans to develop more of the estate too. Bunch of stuck up crooks.
Why does the NT need to produce propaganda like this? Because it's lost the battle for hearts and minds locally. The NT made a killing when it sold Erddig land to developers to build the Coed y Glyn estate in the 1970s - where did that money go? The same will happen again at Rhostyllen - money from this land sale will go into the bigger pot for NT expansion and bureaucracy.
220 homes, of which 55 are affordable? If its done, why can't new housing be provided exclusively as good affordable homes for local people? That would surely be the ethical thing to do?
This is truly nausiating. The trust show exactly what they are here. Vultures with all the airs and graces, but totally without any scruples. With no hint of shame can continuously publish blatant propoganda when they know everything they're saying has been shown to be untrue.Amazingly this attempt at image repairing,is done thinking that anyone believes them anymore. After all how would the peasants of " dejected and desolated" Wrecsam know whats true? John Droog!Drwg swn i ddweud! NOT ON ERDDIG
The National Trust should be ashamed of themselves. This development is an insult to Wrexham and its people, trying to make out it's for local people! what a joke. Agreed, the violin music is stomach churning, also agreed as regards the sobbish tone, sums up the National Trust. This cheesy bit of PR won't convince anyone in Wrexham.
The Violin music really gets too much. It's nice to have things kept as they were but does there have to be so much snobery attached? It's a charity, not some vast empire. The grounds of Erddig, where most people walk their dogs, are almost forgotten. Says a lot, I think.
