The Original Late Show Syncopated Clock Opening (with announcer) on New York's WCBS-TV Channel 2 and Los Angeles' KCBS-TV and other CBS Owned & Operated Stations
for 25 years started Feb 26,1951 to 1976 then the opening sequence was changed to dots and images BUT OPENING THAT IS MOST REMEMBERED BY KIDS OF ALL AGES IN NY, NJ & CONN IS The Late Show Syncopated Clock Opening slightly altered

I AM ALWAYS FINE TUNING THE OPENING THAT IS WHY THERE IS MORE THAN ONE...I CONTRIBUTED MY RECREATION OF THE OPENING OF LATE SHOW 1951 TO THE PALEY MEDIA CENTER FORMERLY KNOWN AS MUSEUM OF TELEVISION AND RADIO IN NYC

  • There was an EARLY SHOW it had the same theme by different cards

unfortunately I don't remember most of the opening other than a clock

no way for me to recreate it

  • This version of recreated opening with announcer was from a honeymooners episode when Ralph & Norton bought a tv set and it was kept in Ralph's Apartment

the opening of late show showing was a quick look and then the announcer

I recreated the full opening and then added the announcer in

  • Hey I have been looking for a late 80s(87 88 or so) version of this from Portland Oregon...they used this same song(whatever it is) and there were night shots of various downtown places in PDX...If I rememeber correctly it was called

"The Foremost Movie".....anybody out there know what I mean?

  • @lydiatheys And the Early Show graphic was a glass-encased gold clock with the hands set at 4:30.

  • There was an Early Swow. At 4:30 pm, I think.

  • in black & white until 1965.

  • Late Show, Late Late Show, and Late Late Late Show. Why not an Early Early Show? LOL!

  • @143AC I think you just described the opening of the early show movie that wcbs ran during sunday afternoons it to used syncopated clock theme
