Great video! Man, this area looks so different now. I really will never understand why 877 always runs with 6 cars now. IMO, no Hackettstown train needs anything more than 4 cars at the most.

It's so weird to me because I went through here on my way to school every day for nine years, and now it's completely different, especially after they FINALLY turned on the traffic lights. Which BTW, really throw you off when there's a train coming... You have a green left turn arrow onto Main Street, but right next to it there's a giant LED sign that says NO LEFT TURN. Talk about contradiction!
The six car set probably is because of whatever this train turns from.

Nice! So the Morristown Line becomes diesel-only somewhere west of Convent Station? Do the electric-powered trains become a different line or end their run at the end of the electrification?

@TrainManTy This is really confusing, but I'll explain it to the best of my ability...
Just west of Newark, the Montclair-Boonton Line splits off to the north. Electrification ends at Montclair State University, and then it's diesel territory until it remerges with the Morristown Line at Denvillle. The Morristown Line is electrified the entire length to Dover (one station west of Denville), where catenary ends. All electric trains terminate here, and everything west of there is diesel powered.
