Very energy efficient light bulb, made of old neon CFL and 20 white LED diodes.
The conection between led diodes is serial, and it use just the bridge rectifier and 5Watts resistor of 10K ohms.Total cost 1$ :)
The diagram you can see it on my blog spot:

  • yes its a bright light!!!!! wel done :/

  • @pitdog2010

    Thanks :)

  • If you're making a lamp for 120 volts, what kind of resistor do you need?

  • @HoneycombAgent

for 20 leds in serial, and for 120 volts you will use about 4k ohms 5 watt resistor

  • Please remove the "very energy efficient" from the description, because this "bulb" is quite the opposite of it! It draws 5 Watts to light just 20 LEDs. 20 mA LEDs have 2 Lumens max (much less if you buy cheap ones). So this construction has an efficiency of 8 Lumens/Watt max. Even your good old incadescent can beat that!

(and I'm not even talking about safety issues here)

  • Nice.

  • awesome work. thanks for showing
