  • when you travel more you will learn to respect cultures. in hawaii parrot fish is part of their fish grinds since they dont have groupers nor snappers...well they do but all are invasive species and have high ciguatera levels. not because no more fish, you have to remeber that hawaii is the most remote island on the planet so the reef is fairly new and not a lot of reef fish reach there unless brought upod by aquarist!

  • Have you ever went spear fiching in Guam?? I like the footage though. I miss the pacific ocean. And nice jobe with the Parrot fish. They taste so good.

  • @ParallelSolutions parrot fish is the best fish in hawaii to me so go sucka cock u dnt know what u tlking bout. Parrot fish called in hawaiian UHU is one of the fish most people shoot here so go learn sum history scrub

  • @thekind253--steam the fish for 30 min. or until its cooked all the way through with fresh ginger. than put it on a serving plate. then heat up some cooking oil on the stove and pour it on the fish. then pour some shoyu on top of that. top with chopped green onions. den dig in. eat with some sticky rice. bugga is ono!

  • @jujunator How do you cook 'em?

  • what are the best spot's to spearfish on the Kona side? Swimming from land. I won't have a boat but I might rent kyak for a day or two. And I'll probably just be using a pole spear because I don't know about shipping my gun.

  • @TunDa00 I posted that comment a year ago. I see now that, that wasn't the best way to say what I was thinking. I respect different cultures and have no problem with you eating Parrot fish. I personally haven't tried it! So that gives me no right to say that.

In Australia they are not considered a table fish but I think that might be a different species anyway. We have some pretty cool reef species though, wouldn't hurt to come check them out ;)

I apologise for any offence I have given.

  • @ParallelSolutions Parrot fish Tastes fucking good whats wrong with that so tender.... MMMM

  • Only the amateurs

  • @ParallelSolutions people shoot bluebar parrotfish in aus aswell you know

  • parrot fish is hella good in Hawaii we eat all the fish in da sea

  • @ParallelSolutions

Maybe you should take into account that different cultures prize different fish, and that different areas have different species available to them; instead of being so ignorant.
