A Hollywood-style tribute to the great Carmen Cavallaro, whose piano interpretations were the 'hidden' star of the movie "The Eddy Duchin Story" starring Tyrone Power, Victoria Shaw and Kim Novak. "Manhattan", "You're My Everything", "Whispering" and "Shine On, Harvest Moon" are here woven into a gracious and faithfully-stylized medley capturing the musical spirit of a bygone age, by Jon England - the Stateside Englishman offering the world a 'today' interpretation of outstanding and elegant pianistic showmanship.

  • Wow you are a great musician Jon! Well anyway I saw a car advertising your website and that led me here to hear you play. You've got yourself another subscriber!

  • @GloriaHoliday Well, Well - I'm glad you caught sight of my piano-limo! it's great fun to drive - if you search my videos for a CBS Television inter view, you'll see the car being driven. Thanks for your appreciative critique - please tell everyone you know! Jon

  • Hi Jon, Enjoy your style and especially love the brilliant sound of that white upright piano. What kind is it? Is it an "old" upright restored or new? Do you take it with you when you perform as Liberace did with his particular pianos? Thanx. Just great music played to perfection. JIM

  • @932stretch 'Glad you like the sound of that 'special' piano. The case is an original vintage upright 'grand' (a large, classic upright). However, the great sound comes from the fact that it's a Yamaha digital keyboard in place of the original keyboard. I set the 'voice' to a slightly honky-tonk sound (for this piece and some others) to emulate the jazzy 'honky-tonk' pianos of that era. I do take it with me if the occasion warrants! Jon

  • Thanks for the memory of Eddy and of course of Carmen Cavallaro the poet. I have just discovered you today because I´m doing a researching about light music in UK from Wally Stott, Clive Richardson, Robert Farnon up to John Wilson and David Charles Abell. I¨m 25 years old but I´m in love with Cavallaro¨s style. I also knew about Gil Carli in Brazil and now I have the pleasure to meet you and your style playing the arrangements of Carmen and you do it excellent. Thank you very much

  • @YessicaRose86 Thanks for your detailed feedback and appreciation. I'm glad you like my music, and all the oher 'light' music out there. Jon

  • omg..i didnt know this Mr jon..so lovely.. :) i want to hear on live..i may cry..

  • Thanks for your reaction, indeed Carmen is hard to beat, checked Gil he performs also great. A lot of people don't like the way Eddy "changed"to play Chopin but it is so wonderfull, specially as you also give it a free interpretation. Though Carmen is special (music played on funeral of my granny )

    I'll keep checking ytube

  • @08puffel Thank you kindly for your generous and detailed appreciation. I must say that I have recently discovered Gil Carili - DO look him up on YouTube - he performs note-for-note interpretations of Carmen Cavallaro classics - as you know, Eddy Duchin could not play like Carmen... his are true works of genius.. Best wishes in Holland - it's great to know that love for this kind of music is still alive! Jon.

  • wonderfull, searching the net for eddy duchin and found your tribute great. I was 3 years when i heard this music first in '56 and loved it trhough the years. Lp was broken but lucky we have the net known. Your interpretations are, again, wonderfull and will be added to the library.

    greetings from holland
