This is a pre-recorded free live stream from SPIN Magazine of Stand Inside your Love by The Smashing Pumpkins. It was recorded with FRAPS from their website. All credit goes to them, the Terminal 5 venue in New York and of course The Smashing Pumpkins.

  • @bigstereo I consider Smashing Pumpkins Fusion Music because they changed their musical style with every album.

  • @thetheRedundant Haha. Alternative? Alternative to what? They were one of the biggest rock bands of the 90's; signed to one of the biggest labels in the world. Alternative is a lame descriptor for ANY musical act, even the most obscure independent artist. People use it in too broad a sense. It says nothing about the actual style of music that the artist makes.

  • @bigstereo How about 'alternative' like everyone else? I don't think I've ever heard a critic or fan call any of their songs pop.

  • @thetheRedundant Sometimes they play pop ... sometimes they play rock ... and sometimes they play a combo of both. What am I supposed to call them? Metal? Grunge? Rhythm & Blues?

  • @bigstereo Pop rock!?! What in the world are you talking about?

  • Blocky and inarticulate drumming. Yes he is a great drummer, but he is not the "Pumpkin" drummer. Mike tends to break the flow of a song way too often. Its almost painful listening to SP classics with no Jimmy on the kit. You'll be expecting a certain "roll" here, or "hi-hat" there...and it just doesn't show up :(

I'm still holding my breath (probably in vain) for JC to return one day. I can do without James and D'arcy, but Jimmy is the real backbone of the pumpkins.

  • @Brown86Town for you mate, but for me is travel =) btw is fav song of the Machina album SP!!! cheers.

  • Still one of my favorite pop-rock bands after all this time. Jeff Schroeder is so fucking cute.
