Ive been to this museum a few times, since its a half-hour drive from my hometown, this display is pretty impressive! youd have to see it up close to appreciate the attention to detail, the neck is made out of thousands of scale-like metal 'feathers' which give it flexibility. i believe there are also fish/cygnets, though i cant remember, its been some years...

What an extraordinary object! :D

What's the neck covered with? It looks like massive metal, but it wouldn't been able to move then?

Sigh...

The 1982-1986 Ripley's Believe It or Not with host Jack Palance showed this piece. I could had sworn he stated that there is another one in Russian that does not work.
