Well, it appears that this league has a sliding rule because he was thrown out for malicious contact. He's out either way. It doesn't matter if the player is blocking the plate or not, because they have the ball. The runner has to find a way to slide around them. The advantage really goes to the fielder, because it's almost impossible for the runner to get around the fielder without running them over.

he couldnt slide the plate was being blocked by the pitcher. it should have been an interference.
