So, after gleaning all the info I could from the various B-Body boards, I decided to cobble together the most minimalist - but effective - intake system I could for the Roadmaster for the least money possible. I bought a pair of 45˙ 3" ABS elbows from Home Despot and discovered that 3" pipe and the required cement would raise the cost considerably above the '8 dollar intake' level mentioned on the boards. So after a couple of different configurations I came up with what you see above. Pro Gaff tape is used throughout, and being thorough has meant so far, no SES lights.
I had a hockey puck in the back shed (I saw it years before I bought the Roadie and thought 'hey, at least I'm ready for an LT1 car now!) so that cost zero dollars. Throttle body bypass was zero dollars because I didn't use the kinda idiotic forum approved method. Bent a line and shortened a hose, added more Gaff tape for abrasion resistance.
Used a drop in Spectre air filter, it's perfectly clean inside and the extra pickup has been noticeable. I have an exhaust done as well so I don't hear this much anymore, but when I was 'Cadillac Quiet' exhaust wise I certainly did.
