  • @shakezulla86 Today's components are a lot more sensitive than those back in the day.. :/

  • I used to own a few old Macs and vintage Powerbooks. They were all very well made and sturdy. Even the floppy disked were mechanically operated, very cool. The very fact that many of these machine are still working shows how well they were made. You don't see stuff like that these day in this age of made cheaply as possible computers and gadgets.

  • Out sourcing is the reason why westerners are going bankrupt. Thanks Apple!

  • those are some sweet-ass IIci's... those were nearly $5K at the time... phew!!!

  • All those computers are now in landfills.

  • I find it hilarious that today when people are working with mother boards and such they do so in a static room with ozone clean suits. Back in the day it was some guy in a sweater with no gloves. Lol nice.

  • @HaroldHoltCantSwim you would be surprized how wrong u are :)

  • @emir0n

I suppose you just pour a bucket of hot solder on to a pile of chips, shovel it into an enclosure and call it a day?

  • It's sad that regardless of the better reliability, pride and build, most companys now get their systems made in third party factories where most of the assembly and testing is done purely by machine.

I had an old 78 RankArena TV set that was built in Australia and was still going when I got rid of it.

  • @spongebobworldonline

Microsoft came before Apple tho, but god only knows what the hell they were doing at that stage LOL
