  • Felt so good to wipe their arrogant smiles off their faces on that wonderful night in Kansas City. 83-79, baby! Face it, Joke-lahoma; you'll never win a national title in basketball! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

  • @Bizz41

You had another factor involved, John Calipari.

    lol

  • Man did OK have some great basketball teams in the 80's and early 90's. Stacey King, Mookie Blaylock, Harvey Grant....can't believe that team didn't win it all. Tubbs just got out coached.

  • @ed2kou1 You're right about the coaching though...no doubt Larry Brown was a better coach than Tubbs. You guys had the better overall talent though, KU had the best player and best coach.

  • @ed2kou1 You guys definitely had a better team... (you beat us twice in the regular season), KU was just on a roll that couldn't be stopped. OU was real good that year no doubt though.

  • I can't deny how good Manning was as a college player. It was Danny and the miracles. The miracles, they get no credit, but damn in that game. Newton did a wrap around, Normor a walk on, was hitting big shots. Everyone in that game stepped up. They ran with us in the 1st half 50-50. In the second half they controlled the clock, there were so many shots hit at the buzzer. They milked the clock. They out coached us.

  • Ha...you may be right but my vote is actually for Memphis in '08. We beat that team and they had more talent than we did. I think in '88 we had the overall best talented player, and OU couldn't contain him.

  • This was the greatest team to never win the championship. We play Ku 9/out of 10 we beat you 9 times. You just happened to beat us the one time. I'll never forget it. 79-83. I was 16 lol

  • Oh yeah!!! Mookie Blaylock & Ricky Grace, the best defensive backcourt before UNLV's Greg Anthony & Anderson Hunt.

  • I miss Top Daug
