Let's see what YouTube does to this one. Captured in HDV and rendered as a .wmv, this is a short trial to see how it fayres here. Includes a first trial of an improvised mount for the side of a car, or in this case a van. Statutory muzak applied :-)

Pretty cool. But I gotta tell ya. Driving in the UK
with anything hanging outside the car is Crazy!
I was driving in Ireland and the roads were so
narrow my mirror hit a mirror on a car coming
from the other direction.

Thanks, looking back at it it's not doing the cam justice really, I've learnt a lot more about handling HDV and with You Tube now offering it I think I'll put this up again in a different render. Anyway, I used factory settings apart from turning the 'Steadyshot' mode off. I did overcook saturation and contrast settings in post though.

Sick dude. Did you come up with the plans yourself or did you consult a DYI model?

Cheers. I trawled the net for ideas, used a few, rejected many, then built the crane as I went. I only did the drawings afterwards.
