UPDATE for those planning on adding a PS2 to their collection to replay Ace Combat 4, 5 or Zero.

Prices on Gamestop:

System with Controller and all cables: $30 - I recommend the original, bulky version as opposed to the slim version. I have friends who had the slim version and the insides literally melted on them from the heat.

Sony Memory Card - $5 - I recommend the Sony made kind, not 3rd party as they're less reliable.

I BOUGHT a used PS2 just to PLAY this game when my PS3 with backwards comp. died... and when that ps2 dies, Ill buy another cause this game is fucking worth it!

@kyrudo I bought an original style PS2 from Gamestop used over 6 years ago. It's never given me trouble, even after plugging in the modem. PS2s were built to last.

I'm definitely going to buy another PS2, a controller, and AC4, AC5, ACZ. It was stupid to sell my PS2 in the first place. I had all of the PS2 AC games at one point too

@bitbat9 Be sure to play them in order this time around. By in order I mean 4, 5 then Zero. You'll better appreciate the jump in technology between installments and how they upgraded the enemy A.I. as well. Zero was much harder than 4 was.

Not to be retarded here, but for me..... playing the missions on the actual dates (last year) seemed pretty cool to me. The very last mission was moving on new years eve, and it felt great living through the unsung war

I'd pay $59.99 just for an HD remake of this on 360/PS3. Add persistent stats, an online mode, and remade movies.

Oh god, this was such an epic tale. This is simply one of those awesome games that make you scream...REMAKE FOR 360 or PS3!

@megamakbladespirit Look what they did with Project Dark on XBL Arcade. They could do that with 4/5/Z. One engine, 3 games (I think it's the same engine). Online Plane/Pilot XP like MW3's system (Perk: Barrel Roll Pro?), respawn timers like AH's, varied offense/defense game modes (Megalith 8v8 would rock!), the list could go on.

What a fantastic Ace Combat. One of my favourite games of all time. Port it or remaster it to the PS3!
