This a great song all round, but for me it's elevated by Dr. John's piano - understated & exquisite!

Plastic? Sheeple? Meh.

Her album Central Reservation(the one this song is on) got a lot of promotion on MTV2 when it first came out. Stolen Car was a buzz single for a month(or two, can't remember). She didn't get main-station billing, but bubblegum was still pretty popular at the time, and you can't really blame anyone for that. But people -did- recognize her. This song was HEAVILY played on many teen drama soundtracks at the time.
