I think you misunderstand me. I made no comment about the quality of the West Wing which I acknowledge to be good, even if some of the characterisation and dialogue speed is hugely (and laughably) unrealistic. I was simply expressing some despair that continually talking over someone is not seen as suppressing that person's right to give their point of view, but instead 'kicking their ass'. If that passes as open and respectful debate, then democracy and progress are in trouble.

I feel really sorry for Ainsley. Like she said herself in the episode 'in this white house' she doesnt look like any of the other republicans. And people judge her for that. So, this scene was a good one to show that she isnt just another pretty face.
