Silent Super 8mm film.

1975. Murray Field Airport, Sinoe, Greenville County, Liberia. Business travellers returning from a visit to a major timber company (Vanply) wait for their flight in the departure lounge, order drinks at the well-stocked bar equipped with red spitting bucket, and get weighed it. One thing expatriates learnt how to do in Liberia was to wait...... and wait .........and wait.......
The ability to fall asleep at will was a significant benefit, and seasoned expatriates could nod off while standing in queues....

  • Hi Didadragan, Many thanks for the comment. It’s not only Air Liberia that’s moved on - everyone in the film is now either dead or around 70 years old.

Brings back a lot of nostalgic memories, though - we were young, and life was an adventure.

The moving hand has writ and, having writ, moves on.....

  • This a great piece of history of "everyday life" in up country LIberia .

Great seeing the captain strolling along with his umbrella, lol

Unfortunately, Air Liberia went under years ago.
