  • We need more people like Erica Jong. She has courage, sensitivity and wisdom.

  • I love Erica Jong. And Fear of Flying is about so much more than sex!! It's so strange to me that the sex is all the public seems to focus on. But there you have it. And Erica rocks!

  • On page 211 of Fear of Flying.

  • @luccpopp I totally agree with you!

  • @essanay45 What is the point of this comment? You're rude and obviously have some mental health issues. Shame on you!!

  • Erica Jong enjoys perambulations at night in poorly-lit alleyways.

  • I'm not sure why you're mocking her looks? When you you read Salman Rushdie, do you berate him for being physically unappealing! Of course not...I forgot - he isn't a WOMAN....

Also, if Arthur Miller can write soft porn, so can Jong! Erica's only problem is that she needs to write a book about what's happening NOW - catch the zeitgeist!

  • Your comment is nicely written, but devoid of meaning. Jong's poetry is gorgeous and full of meaning. You lose.

  • Piss off!! Witches is a fantastic book. It sounds like a case of sour grapes to me. because nobody reads your shit.

  • No, Erica, it's not jealousy, nor anger because you write about your "self." It's disgust because you can't write. And the mixture of porn and low brow sentimentality you sell your readers reminds one of the Philistinism of our society. As the Boston Globe noted, concerning your preposterous attempt to write Shakespeare: "Serenissima" is not a novel but a fantasy, the fantasy of a limited talent trying, hopelessly, to imagine what it would be like to serve as muse to genius." Bingo.
