2 weeks extra training to learn ceremony does not make them "elite" it just is part of their recruitment so they can feel good about themselves and think they are special.

Marines have the lowest combined ASVAB scores of any branch, shorter AIT because they cannot handle longer ones, and 2 weeks longer basic so they can learn ceremony.
And highest dropout rate at ranger school , can't forget that.
