@chesterbesterfeild Its was 2 weeks after the attraction opened, 1974
But everytime i see this show or even thinking of DISNEYLAND i have to remember that day

@jedi725 Yes except that Carousel of progress is a bit too serious and also feels dated. (It's even older than America Sings, eventhought the animatronics were replaced with new ones). America Sings was amazing. There is a magic in seeing talking and singing cartoon animals. Its a bit like comparing a documentary to an animated movie or a Broadway musical. The only other similar show I remember is the one with vegetables in Epcot.

@BadIdeaBearCub actually Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress in Disney World is as compelling as this show and has appeared after it.

I see why the scream of the one girl would startle an audience but why would they think it was part of the show? As for my opinion, being grown in the eastern seaboard, I think Carousel of Progress is better

I learned about the 1975 girl's accident today. However I saw the show in 1982 and I thought it was the best attraction on Disneyland. And I thought then and I still think today that the building design was a great idea for moving big crowds into larger shows. Too bad that nothing as compelling as this show has appeared before of after it.

You think this is the video were all probably looking for. No, definitely, definitely not. I'm looking for footage I saw in another video of a woman who died July 8th in 1984 named Deborah Gail Stone who was basically cut in half down the middle

that would have scary the heck out of me. Especially after I read about the incident, that poor girl

I''m going to cry. Thanks for putting this up. I had such wonderful memories of disneyland in the 80s when I was performing ragtime at Coke Corner, and top 40 in Tomorrowland. This was when Disneyland was charming, and not the Disneyland of today.

Reason the ride was built originally: to celebrate America's bicentennial
Reason they closed it: The bicentennial ended, and the ride became dated
Reason to bring back the ride: As tribute to the creative genius of Imagineer Marc Davis
