Congressman Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) appears on "Hardball" to respond to protesters opposing his support of President Obama's health care reform bill. "I think these folks are real desperate to stop health care reform," Rep. Doggett says. "What better slogan for the party of no... than just say no."

Austin is the most politically sophisticated city in Texas? Very funny, Mr. Matthews. I liked that. Obviously you don't know about "Mo-Pac" fiasco (it STILL doesn't go anywhere); or about the many elections to move the airport; or the "we're in, no we're out, no we're in" on the S.Tx.Nuke; or their efforts to annex the entire state, for it's own good (can you say Dripping Springs?); or silly hostility to pro-sports . . . . It worries me for my kids comming into this world, that there are so many people that are willing to go along with an idea and not question how it is going to work, get payed for, what exactly is in it. People that are told to believe in a bill because it will better them, but have no clue what is in it, and trust the people who are trying to pass the bill who don't know what is in it, are complete morons.

Isn't this one sided I was there and the people causing trouble were not the people opposed, maybe you should ask some of the wonderful troopers that were there. I have video and it shows who the real mob was there and on the capital lawn at the succession rally earlier that day.

They'd be able to compete; just provide a better service (or services not covered under the public option), trim out the waste spent on paper pushers, and honour their part of the contract with the client.

There wouldn't be a need for a public option if the companies didn't feel the need to treat their clients like crap just to make another dollar.

Yeah, that's how they sell you. Get real. Once government is involved, it just gets worse. No private company will be able to compete against the subsidies and stand up to the over regulation for long. They won't be happy till they're the only game in town.

The people do not want the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Henry Waxman, Harry Reid, etc... to run their health care? Is that such a difficult concept to understand? Doggett is an out-of-touch psycho that should be thrown out in 2010! He swore to uphold the Constitution, yet is unaware of the 10th Amendment! People of Texas --- THROW HIM OUT!!
