We built a water feature pond in our garden, but now we thinking might aswell get some ornamental goldfish lol... So this was the dilema, filtration!
I had a few fish tanks could almost call me a hobbyst, so I have a general idea on filtration and biological filtration.
The Water feature it self has a self contained resevoir where the water is recycled through, this resevoir is submerged in the pond with about 3 inches of water cover above.
Theory, is that the water is sucked through the top of the resevoir and passed through the filtration media, which is the cleaned then pumped back out into the pond.
Hopefully this should work, please tell me what you think and if you have any suggestions on improvements or errors, your help is.. well helpful
Thanks!

@montyloree hi, it will take more than a week, the filter media will have to build up a dirty appearance almost like slime or fine mud, as this picks up even finer particles, but also there is other attributes that could affect it. but if is new filter system will take maybe up to 2 months or more for it to work 100%.
How similar is your setup? and what is your pond like?

hello
i've built a similar filter using the same materials... it's been a week, and the filter doesn't seem like it's working... does it take a while for the scrub pads to start to collect the green algae?
