The Band of The Royal Westminster Regiment (New Westminster, BC) performed at the Kiwanis Fraser Valley International Music Festival, 2009 May 19, and was recognized by adjudicators with a Gold Standing for its presentation of "Prelude to Revelry", "The Vedette", and "Somerset Rhapsody".

  • how dare they use a saxophone in place of oboe d'amore!  At least use an English horn!

  • Sorry - the band doesn't currently have an oboe player, much less an English horn. The alto sax had to cover the part.

  • the sax sounds very good tbh :) I know how hard it is to play smoothly like this and it's very good ^_^

    I've been playing the 1st clarinet part in this in my orchestra :)

  • Umm English Horns and Oboe d'amores are expensive and rare so their parts are usually cued...
