@ShaemusTOFinnigan - You said it right...I dig these unusual almost tragically brilliant solos. It's like he is trying to wring something out of the guitar that hasn't come before. Yes he's fucked up and the solos have plenty of errors in them from a technical standpoint but wow are they passionate and soulful and experimental....perfect no but unlike anything from anyone else....maybe its a bridge that helped lead to the tappers and unusual players of today like Vai.
i love Pages live 'H induced perspective' repertoire in 77 & 80. H made Page almost entirely re-Invent his soloing technique. An approach that was, and is to this day, utterly unique to Jimmy Page. When he was really feeling it (which was on most nights), his soloing was extremely unique, experimental, and dynamic! Full of raw energy, and "feel". His play was almost dangerous, your just waiting on edge to hear what he is going to come up with in each next passage.

heroin hurt jimmy's performance a lot from 77-80. Even drugged out though he's clearly still one of the best.

Sounds good, I always thought they slowed this one way down over the years like in 73 - 79, this sounds like the right tempo
