Pendleton, Indiana What has to be one of the biggest undertakings by the Pendleton, Indiana Historical Museum is being held this weekend in Falls Park here In Pendleton.
Just some of the events taking place during this three day journey into history are, a battle, cannons firing, a reenactment of the Lincoln — Douglas Debate, a Fredrick Douglass Presentation, a concert at the Gazebo, a barn dance, a Civil War exhibit, and there will be Sunday Period Church Services held. The museum will also hold special hours during this entire event.
Falls Park is well know and reaches back in what is a deep and rich history. In this historic area, Fredrick Douglass was attacked by a mob and was said to have been reported by the Boston Liberator. This incident took place in the area on September 16, 1843. It is also the area were three white men were hung in 1825 for killing Indians.
