Can kind of relate to it due to the long history of alcoholism that runs in my family... including my old man. The lyric 'a little part of it in everyone' particularly poignant because every man has a void in him he needs to fill, whether with love, sex, drugs, or gambling.

Mr. Young, the song is beautiful. I guess today the pipe has replaced the needle. Damn street chemicals.

The novel "transition" has a decription of heroin addiction as the process of pouring your life out of the "normal" world to the new "real" world you discover when you try heroin. Like a transfusion where all you leave behind is a husk and you only travel back to that normal "husk" world for the robotic actions that allow you to continue to live in the "real" heroin world. What a fucking horror show. I..I can't even really see how anyone can get free ever......so fucking sad.

good job Zerone! I was too big of a chicken to try it... I am grateful for that, but this song brings back some sad memories of a young girl who died in my arms back in 1972... the damage done.
