Avatar has nine Oscar nominations and is poised to become the highest-grossing movie of all time, but the film is also contributing to a bit of forward-thinking eco-friendliness - not just in its underlying message, but by recycling the 3-D glasses. In fact, USA Today reports that if all the 3-D glasses, roughly 42.1 million pair, were to be laid end-to-end, they would stretch over 3,987 miles! That is a lot of landfill space. You can help by choosing a local theater that is participating in this recycling program... it's easy!

  • these hoes just want the glasses back.. everyone i know that went to see a 3d movie kept those glasses... there saying it like if we throw them on the streets and shit

  • @Robbiegod1 you might. as long as they are reald 3d glasses and movie is presented in 3d with reald 3d then it should work.

  • my theatre charged me $3 for the glasses. Why should i recycle them? Can i reuse them if i go back to the theatre and watch another movie?

  • recycle helps a lot our planet and i also made 122 dolls.. for some cans and bottles that colect for a month.. check my video "si reciclas ganas"...

  • I'm not giving my 3D glasses back after paying $6.25 for an icee.

  • if i have to pay for em i am keeping them lol

  • One of the more mis-leading recycling videos I've ever seen. The plastic on these lenses are EASILY (VERY EASILY) scratched, so unless they are taking amazing precautions during the "cleaning" you will be getting completely screwed view as you "enjoy" your next 3D film. Keep them, and bring them back to the next 3D film instead: that's recycling at it's best.

  • They charged you for the glasses? Mine were free, and I got to keep them.

  • Why would I want to wear glasses that were washed 100s or 1,000s of times when I could just keep my own?

And why would I want to keep spending $3 on these glasses for each 3D movie?

    Waste of $
