I wish Ralph didn't get injured the Rockets would have won the title in '87 T.T and probably even after that too. Such a shame the franchise had a bad history with injuries also with Yao and Tmac and before then Rudy T.

@jonesthecat00. I disagree. Sampson had height but not that charisma. Sichting was a WNBA player like Sue Bird, a total bitch.

@Ariamaluum OMG..ralph sampson, he had the opportunity to be a star, and so he was for a period..all star, best rookie (as far as I can remember)..sichting was a good player but nothing more..sampson was a star, sichting one of the crew..a star..a supernova, actually..

@GuruOfGreatness not only the injuries..I I remember very well ralph sampson totally unable to play after the fight with jerry sichting in the 86 nba finals..the following season he played with no intensity, and with arrogance..too cocky, actually..but the spell was broken, and since then he never was the same player again..

@515sbest Seriously, I'll give Ralph his props.Had some amazing talent and skill.But in looking back, he just had some deficienties in his game.One day, I'm going to check out his son at ECU to see if he has some of his father's game.
