I don't know what the jazz tune is, but I agree that Wideman's essay really was great. He really hit the tone of Pittsburgh, and Pittsburghers, right on the head! It is actually the first time I heard a truthful public presentation of the burgh.
I enjoyed Wideman's essay. I'm not familiar with his work, but am inclined now to investigate. Does anyone know the jazz composition that is heard at the end of this video essay? What is the title of the piece? Who is the composer? This essay makes me feel nostalgic for a place I've never seen.
