Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh Line - Part 4 - Huntingdon, PA

We continue our tour of the NS Pittsburgh Line - the former Pennsy Middle Division.

Part 4 picks up the action back in Huntingdon, PA -

Westbound NS 21G is first up, led by Dash-9 9445. Next up we NS SD70M-2 2676 leading eastbound 36A past the old Pennsy tower - check out those tractors in 36A's consist.

NS 13G is next, led by still blue ex Conrail SD60I 6737, 22W heads east just as 13G clears the signals. Finally we see NS 9-40CW 9371 as it leads 23W westbound.

I grew up in Huntingdon, and I can tell you that that old (HUNT) tower has seen a lot more action than you can imagine. In the days of the PRR, the mainline was 4-tracked, and it wasn't unusual for all 4 of them to have a looong freight on them at once. I saw as many as ten GP9s and GP7s lashed up on coal trains that seemed to go on forever. Early diesel and even steam pounded those rails day and night. Those were the days.

HUNT tower is a museum today, BTW.

Great video, NS 36A always has tractors in the consist, those SD60is are fairly common on the PITL, you should upload your videos in 16:9 they woud look so much bette 5.5
