Mermaid Braid

So as some of you already know, half my time is devoted to lurking pinterest, tumblr, beautylish and beauty related online websites for hair inspiration. You usually see a lot of gorgeous curls, updos, braids and blah blah blahhh but I saw one picture and fell in love with it. It was a girl on the beach with this gorgeous mermaid braid.

I wanted to recreate it as similar to the inspiration picture as possible, but I unfortunately cannot contort my arms in the way necessary to continue the braid straight down my back so I had to bring it to one side. But if you can get someone to help you finish the braid or if you're doing this look on a friend then feel free to alter it as you like!

@jamiecullen987 apparently, from comments I'm reading people are finding this easier to do with a fishtail braid so maybe try that?

@corrinebarba it's really hard to braid straight down, once it gets hard just bring it to the side like I did. It also looks good if you do the top half as a mermaid braid and the rest as a basic 3-strand braid!
