There are laws that give the police the right to seize cameras, cell phones, and other recording devices in which an altercation takes place and that the recording devices may have information vital to the incident that could be used in court. like it or not, if you don't want to have your property taken...don't take the camera out or have a much larger lens and shoot the video from much farther!
