On a recent trip to Shenzhen, China hosted by Ritz-Carlton, we woke early one Sunday morning to visit the Lian Hua Mountain Garden where I shot this video. While Shenzhen's gleaming skyscrapers and status as China's third largest metropolis have led some to dub it the country's "first First World City," the scene at the park felt distinctly Chinese. From a choir singing songs from the Cultural Revolution (as well as "Old Man River" dedicated to us visiting Westerners) to ballroom dancing, we present it all here for your viewing pleasure.

  • Shenzhen is miserable and definitely not a tourist spot. I passby it when I go to Guangzhou and can't wait to leave.

  • I didn't know Shenzhen was a tourist spot
