  • i may be wrong here but i dont think i am...but i believe balsis is playing with a palmer cue

  • @mastercueartist It's hard to be sure due to the graininess of the old B&W film, but I think you may be correct...A buddy of mine has a '64 vintage Palmer cue, and it is a fine piece and has very simular joint and butt designs... One of the most well-balanced cues I've ever held.....

  • I don't know much about billiards, but that announcer was excellent. Thank you so much for this video; it really helped me to understand the game.

  • Crane was a defensive specialist. He would play safe until he had an opening, but Mosconi was right, he would not gamble on shots. If you play this game and understand its nuances, you can appreciate the trading of safeties and strategic thinking. The game also is absent the luck factor of games such as 8 ball and 9 ball. Mosconi played only 14.1, and when he died straight pool went with it. Barbox 8 ball also did it in. Mosconi still has the record 526 and ended it on an easy shot.

  • This is a feat in sports that will probably never be repeated...it is truly one of the greatest sporting feats

  • WOW. just WOW. Never watched straight pool before. This is so cool.

  • Wow this is pool I never knew people played. He has to make his last shot while breaking the balls that were set up.

  • Crane used his Balabushka cue that was made for him.

  • @nman48 That 526 was done on an 8 foot table, and loses it's luster because of it... George "Ginky" San Souci's 429 on a 9 foot is much more impressive..

  • Absolutely Fantastic to be able to watch this! Blessings to one(s) responsible for posting this!!

I cherish this old time pool, back when more skill was required (table size and strategy).

  • does anyone know what cue crane is using ?

  • david wesley wilder is 1000 times better than these guys x 10...
