My friends in galashiels saw the same thing in july!
I saw the same thing the lastnight, the 26th of september 2009 at 11:08pm the are definetly not chinese lanterns, the ones i saw moved about as if the were being controlled and they werent making a noise and the were scary!!

we had the similar in Galashiels in March and ive seen it at North bridge too, there normally seen near Wind farms :S

I saw something very similar last night standing on the North Bridge in Edinburgh around 11 pm. There were around 8 reddish yellow lights rising slowly in the sky to the east. They all disappeared after two minutes or so..Strange
