http://www.erica.biz/ Overwhelmed by "Getting Things Done"? Successful entrepreneur Erica Douglass demonstrates how getting things done, ("GTD"), doesn't have to be expensive or overly involved. By request: Here's the exact notebook I use: http://bit.ly/personalnotebook

  • erica, do you use a calendar (ie day-runner, etc etc) at all? thanks

  • I use Google Calendar for my calendar. It syncs to my phone.

  • hey erica! love love love this video. you're super cute & easy to listen too. questions - what size notebook is this is it a 1,3, or 5-subject notebook? so at the front of the notebook, are all your monthly lists? for example, the first page is jan's list? and 2nd page is feb's list? or did you put feb's list after all your jan stuff? last but not least, where did you put the "done by end of week" list at? on the same page as the first day of the week or? thx again. huge fan of your website too!

  • Hi Diana,

The notebook is smaller than a full 8.5x11 notebook. It's 5x7.

My monthly lists are at the front, yes.

My weekly lists go throughout the whole notebook. So I'll have a page with a weekly list, then a page with a daily list, etc.

  • Hi kgazette,

I write the weekly goals once a week--typically on the Saturday or Sunday prior. (Worst case, Monday morning.) They are things I want to accomplish before the week ends--I consider my week to end 11:59PM Sunday night.

  • Usually, I carry the small note pad that I fit in my pocket and a pen. Different colors for different headings and tasks. I also use the Google calendar, which sends me the email concerning the events. I can use it to send email to other people concerning the event. This is a very fun thing to do. I even type some of the stuff on Microsoft Word. Amazing ways to put things in a schedule. I enjoy your video.

  • You're awesome! And so happy :)

  • Try Evernote on smart phone!

  • hahaha - "where I can put my pen in" -woud've been funny if a guy said this^^

  • Back to the basics - I like it.

  • Since I've been using your method my projectmanagement is so much better. Because everyday I want to do SO many things. But when I write down 6 or 8 things that needs to be done, it are the main priorities. So now I have more focus and it also helped my sister with her homework. It's so simple, I love it. Thanks a lot.

  • Great video! I find it fascinating how everyone has a different way of implementing David Allen's strategies. Personally, I keep all of my to-do items electronically, but I can see how a notebook can be advantageous. Thanks for posting this video!

  • love the advice! i just started a lead generation business but i dont have a primary business so i have more leads than i know what to do with! im selling my leads for a dollar a piece. ask me how

  • I would recommend checking out Gtdagenda com for an online GTD manager.

You can use it to manage your goals, projects and tasks, set next actions and contexts, use checklists, schedules and a calendar.

Syncs with Evernote, and also comes with mobile-web version, and Android and iPhone apps.
