the thing that gets to me in skating is that the skaters today are so much better.unlike Tennis where the racquets have evoloved with the play, in skating i bet you take a Patrick Chan and give him Ulrich Slachows skates and he can still land a QUAD. Imagine the crowds reaction in 1911 if he could do that.

@Chutson353 Of course,during that time there were hardly any rinks.I would love to know where that skating took place and who the skater was?Probably on a frozen lake in Switzerland.

I really enjoy watching these older routines - they lack the acrobatic skills but there's is a grace in their movement as they trace figures even in the free skating that I find very appealing
