CORDARONE or AMIODARONE s an Anti arrhythmic drug.. It causes Bradycardia..

    Initially we need 2administer loading dose, i.e, 300 mgs ( 1 amp ) in 100 cc Ns..

    If d pt doesn't respond 2 ths ,................,

Start infusion of 600 mgs in 50ml Ns in syringe pump @ 3cc/hr.

Do not overload by high mgs like... must not administer more than !500 mgs...

  • @dxtbo it depends on the arrhythmia, but as someone mentioned in some cases Dronedarone marketed as Multaq maybe a choice. Other alternatives are ablative invasive treatment again totally depend on what type of arrhythmia you're treating. I think this video overlooked an important distinction namely the difference between acute and chronic treatment. As an acute drug amio is still the best agent around, but out-patient treatment is severely hampered by side-effects.

  • What can you substitute with Amio?
