Minecraft - Natural Cave

Found this nice cave while following a vein of coal. This is the cave in its native state. Everything is left exactly how I found it, minus some sand building blocks.

I'm positive there are some hidden pockets due to the loud growls coming from the walls in certain areas.

Yeah I have a huge cave like this in my latest world. It connects to the surface too, so you can walk right in and keep going forever. It's insane. Tons and tons of coal and iron all over, water and magma, it just keeps on going. I think Notch tweaked the tunnel generator in his latest update.

@ReleeSquirrel They're quite amazing. I don't even think this the whole thing, while walking through it I can hear creeps growling at me in certain areas. So there's more rooms / caves close by to clear out and explore!

Ive got a natural cave thats a good 5 times the size of this thing... i walked into a cave in the side of the mountain and thought it was just this small thing and then i heard some skeletons on the other side of a wall so i tunneled through... well ive been exploring the cave for about 17 hours now and still finding more caves....

Funny how we can perfectly navigate these ridiculous caves that we carve ourselves and yet we cannot master a simple gravel/sand suffocation death.

i have a cave like this except much taller in my world i'm in right now, it's epic, but i don't want to explore it because i don't have quite enough torches to go as far as i plan to

That's a decent size cave considering you haven't done any extra mining. I'm working my way through a huge cave right now where I'm trying to get past a couple lava flows. It's a sea of lava!! I also found some strange purple squares (with what looks like runes) under the water -- any idea what they are? I need another diamond to try to mind them.
