  • (continued) not enough pressure to push the water out. But I did come up with a solution... Look at my other videos and see the one called garden sitter. Very cool

  • Hi Halleysmommy- sorry for the long delay to your question. We think alike. I tried a soaker hose but even a full rain barrel only puts out about 2 lbs pressure- not

  • UPDATE INFORMATION: As I said from the get-go, This has been a work in progress~ One thing I need to confess... This timer, NO timers in fact work with a rain barrel. There is not enough pressure to operate any of these battery operated timers. I did figure out another way though, so stand by!

  • do you use a pump for the garden sitter, i did look at the other videos and could not figure out how it worked

  • I wonder if you put the holes on the top instead of the bottom.... there would be more pressure as well.... the system is almost dry now... that way it would be full most of the time.

  • I am surprised there aren't more videos on Youtube of ppl trying to create irrigation systems w/their water barrels. Is everyone just using watering cans and the spigot @ the bottom? I wonder... did you consider trying the soaker hose made for water barrels? I think it was called Mr. Drip?? (Not sure) I would love to know your thoughts on attaching a soaker hose as opposed to the PVC you used... I'm in the midwest and winters are known to freeze & crack pvc.

  • looking good : )
