The Irish Rovers are a Canadian Irish folk group created in 1963 and named after the traditional song "The Irish Rover"
The group is best known for their recording of Shel Silverstein's "The Unicorn" in 1967.
All of the band members are from Ireland.
The primary voices heard in the group's early songs were
Will Millar (tenor)
Jimmy Ferguson (baritone).

Sean O'Driscoll from Cork,

@armydrake01 Yeah, all of the songs were from Ireland. I'm a Newfoundlander and I've appreciated their music since I was a boy. I love Ireland, Scotland and Canada!

Canadian?? Have you been smoking crack? No, they were not Canadian. They have always had a strong Canadian fan base but they were/are Irish. I love this song. Most web sites have tried to crush it/hide it, because they do not want to appear to support the IRA but the song is not pro-IRA merely stating what took place at the time. Pretending it didn't happen is worse than glorifying it. I am not pro-IRA but this is great song and records the sentiment at the time.
